Important: AnonDating is for adults 18+. While we strive to provide a safe environment, you are ultimately responsible for your own safety. Use common sense and trust your instincts.
Essential Safety Rules
- Your identity is YOUR responsibility — Don't accidentally reveal your real name, workplace, school, address, social media handles, or other identifying info. Assume the other person doesn't need to know these things.
- Assume the other person might be recording — This is the biggest risk on any video chat platform. Anything you show on camera could be saved by the other person using screen capture. Don't display sensitive personal documents, private photos, or anything you'd regret.
- Never click suspicious links — If someone sends you a URL, don't click it without thinking. Hover first to preview. Links can lead to phishing sites, malware downloads, or scam pages. When in doubt, ignore.
- Never download files from strangers — No exceptions. Files can contain viruses, ransomware, or illegal content. If they insist, they're likely malicious.
- No money, ever — Any sob story asking for cash, gift cards, or financial help is a scam. "Stranded abroad," "medical emergency," "need rent money" — all classic dating scams. Block and report immediately.
- Watch out for love bombing — If someone moves too fast, declares love quickly, or tries to create artificial intimacy, be suspicious. Scammers use emotional manipulation to lower your guard before asking for money or personal info.
- Skip uncomfortable conversations — If someone asks overly personal questions, makes inappropriate comments, or makes you feel uneasy, click Next immediately. No explanation needed.
- Report abusive users — Use the Report button during chat. Reports are anonymous and help us ban problematic users. Don't just skip — report so we can take action.
- Use a VPN for extra privacy — While we don't log IPs permanently, a VPN adds an extra layer by masking your real IP address from us and from your chat partner.
- Don't move off-platform too quickly — If someone immediately asks to switch to WhatsApp, Telegram, or another app, be cautious. Moving off-platform removes our reporting tools and exposes you to more risk. Get to know them a bit first.
Common Dating Scams on Random Chat
Be aware of these patterns:
Romance / Sugar Baby Scam
Someone (often pretending to be younger/attractive) quickly establishes romantic interest, then asks for money for various reasons: rent, tuition, travel to meet you, family emergency. It's always a lie. Once you send money, they disappear or escalate demands.

Investment / Crypto Scam
They claim to be successful traders, financiers, crypto experts. They offer to "share wealth" or "mentor you" and direct you to investment platforms that are either Ponzi schemes or outright theft. They may send small "returns" to build trust before asking for larger amounts.

Catfishing
They use fake photos (stolen from models/social media), lie about gender, age, identity entirely. The goal varies: some want emotional connection without real commitment, others want money ("I need surgery"), some just enjoy the deception. Video chat early to verify identity if you plan to continue talking.

Blackmail / Sextortion
They convince you to do something compromising on camera (nudity, sexual acts), then record it and threaten to distribute unless you pay. This is a serious crime. If threatened: do not pay, document everything, report to platform and law enforcement. Use a VPN, consider your camera always off with suspicious people.

Phishing Links
"See my other pics here," "Check out my profile," "Video call me on this site" — all诱饵 for phishing. Fake login pages steal credentials. Fake "age verification" sites steal credit card info. Never log in through links strangers send.

Safety Checklist Before Starting a Date
- VPN active (recommended)
- Browser in incognito/private mode
- Camera view checked — no sensitive items in background
- Not in a compromising situation (undressed, sensitive documents visible)
- Ready to click "Next" or "Report" immediately if needed
- Understand that anything shown on camera can be recorded by the other person
Video-Specific Safety
- Background scrutiny — Remove/cover photos with names, mail, diplomas, family pictures, unique art, car license plates visible in frame.
- Reflections — Mirrors, glass, shiny surfaces can reveal more than intended. Check camera angle carefully.
- Voice privacy — If voice recognition is a concern, consider text-only mode. Your voice could be recognized by someone who knows you.
- Clothing appropriately — Treat video date like an in-person date. You're showing yourself to a stranger.
When to Block/Report
Report immediately for:
- Requests for money or gifts
- Sharing of illegal content (drug use, underage material)
- Harassment, threats, abusive language
- Nudity or sexual content (against our rules)
- Spam or advertising
- Asking for personal info repeatedly
- Suspicious links or file transfers
- Catfishing / fake identity (if evident)
After the Date: Digital Hygiene
- Clear browser session — Close tab, clear cache if on shared device.
- Don't engage further with suspicious people — If someone from AnonDating contacts you on other platforms unexpectedly, be skeptical.
- Change passwords if shared — If you accidentally shared a password (never do), change it immediately everywhere.
- Monitor accounts — If you shared financial info or suspect identity theft, monitor accounts for suspicious activity.
Emotional Safety
Dating can be emotionally taxing. Remember:
- It's OK to skip — Most conversations won't click. That's normal.
- Don't take rejection personally — Someone clicking Next isn't about you, it's about compatibility or their mood.
- Take breaks — If you're feeling drained or frustrated, log off. Come back later.
- Maintain boundaries — You set the limits. If someone pushes them, block and move on.
- Don't seek validation — Random strangers' opinions don't define your worth.
