What Anonymity Means on AnonDating

Anonymity isn't just a feature on AnonDating — it's the core principle. Every design decision flows from the question: "Does this protect user privacy?" The result is a platform where you can meet random people for dating conversations without handing over personal data, creating a profile, or building a digital footprint.

Compare this to traditional dating apps that demand your email, phone number, photos, location, preferences, sexual orientation, education, job title, and more. They use that data to build profiles, match you, and most importantly, to monetize you through targeted advertising and premium subscriptions. AnonDating asks for nothing. You show up, you chat, you leave. That's the model.

What We Don't Collect (Ever)

  • Email addresses — No signup means no email collection. Zero.
  • Phone numbers — No verification, no account recovery, nothing.
  • Real names — You're not asked to provide one. You're just "Stranger" to the person you're talking to, and we don't need to know either.
  • Photos or videos for profiles — There are no profiles. Your camera shows live video only, not saved.
  • Location data — We don't request GPS permission. Matching is completely random regardless of geography (though timezone matters for who's online).
  • Chat logs — Messages are relayed in real-time and wiped from memory after disconnection. We don't store history.
  • Video recordings — Video streams peer-to-peer and is never recorded or stored on our servers.
  • Payment information — AnonDating is free. No premium tiers, no subscriptions, no paywalls.
  • Cookies for tracking — We don't set analytics cookies, advertising pixels, or any third-party trackers.

What We Temporarily See (But Don't Store)

Some data passes through our systems briefly during a session:

  • IP address — Visible to our server for the duration of your connection to establish WebRTC signaling. Not logged in any database. Standard server access logs may contain IPs but are deleted within 24 hours and not linked to chat content.
  • Session identifiers — Random tokens used to match you with another user. Exist only in volatile RAM, purged within minutes of disconnect.
  • WebRTC signaling data — Connection offers/answers exchanged between peers to establish P2P link. Not stored.

How Others See You

During an AnonDating conversation, the other participant sees:

  • Your live video (if camera enabled)
  • Your audio (if microphone enabled)
  • Your typed messages
  • They do NOT see: your name, email, phone, location, IP address, profile, or any persistent identifier. You're just "Stranger" to them, same as they are to you.

Risks to Your Anonymity

While we protect your anonymity from our side and from other users in terms of data collection, there are inherent risks you should understand:

  • The person you're talking to can record you — They could use screen capture software, phone camera pointed at screen, or browser extensions to record video. We cannot prevent this. Assume anything you show on camera could be saved by the other party.
  • You might accidentally reveal personal information — If you say your real name, workplace, or show identifiable background items, that information is now known to the other person. They could use it to identify you. This is on you — we encourage keeping conversations anonymous.
  • Your ISP sees you visiting anon-dating.site — They know the domain, though HTTPS hides the specific page. Consider VPN if this is sensitive.
  • Network surveillance — On corporate/school/public WiFi, the network admin can see you're visiting anon-dating.site.
  • Browser history — Your own browser keeps history unless you use incognito/private mode.

Maximizing Your Anonymity: Best Practices

  1. Use a VPN — Masks your real IP from us and from the person you're chatting with. Choose a no-logs VPN provider.
  2. Use private/incognito browser mode — Prevents browser history, cookies, and site data from being saved locally.
  3. Never share personal identifiers — Real name, address, workplace, school, social media handles, phone number, email — none of these should be mentioned.
  4. Keep camera off or use virtual background — If privacy is paramount, text-only mode is safest. If using video, ensure background has nothing identifiable (no photos, mail, diplomas, unique artwork). Consider virtual background or blur.
  5. Use a pseudonym if you want a name — If you want to introduce yourself, make up a name that doesn't match your real identity.
  6. Don't enable location services — We don't ask for location, but some browsers may leak approximate location via WebRTC ICE candidates. Using VPN helps mask this.
  7. Clear browser data after session — Even though we set no cookies, clearing cache/data removes any incidental traces.

Why We Don't Use Accounts

Accounts are the antithesis of anonymity. Every dating app wants you to create a profile — upload photos, fill out bio, list interests, verify email/phone. This serves their business model (profiles = data = monetization) but harms your privacy. AnonDating rejects that model entirely. We don't need accounts to function. We match randomly, we don't store history, we don't build profiles. You are not a user account — you're a person in the moment, having a conversation.

Anonymity vs. Safety Trade-offs

There's a tension between complete anonymity and safety. Anonymity makes it harder to hold bad actors accountable because they can't be identified. That's a downside of not requiring accounts. We mitigate this through:

  • Automated content moderation — AI filters scan for explicit content and flag for review.
  • User reporting — Anyone can report a user during chat. Reports trigger review and potential bans.
  • Rate limiting and behavioral analysis — We can detect and block patterns consistent with bots or abuse, even without knowing who you are.

But these measures aren't perfect. Anonymity means some bad actors can slip through and create new sessions after bans. This is the price of privacy. We believe the trade-off is worth it.

Legal & Age Verification

AnonDating is strictly for adults 18+. We don't verify age because that would require personal data collection. By using the site, you affirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction. We rely on self-declaration and will ban sessions we suspect belong to minors. We also comply with DMCA and law enforcement requests when legally compelled, though our minimal data retention means there's often nothing to provide.
